Privacy Policy for the software.ai Bid Board

This Privacy Policy explains what information the software.ai Bid Board (the “board”) handles and why. It forms part of the Terms, and “we”, “us” and “our” have the meaning given there.

The board has no accounts, sign-in or wallets, and does not ask for your name. We keep only what is needed to run it:

• Listings. The link you list, its category, the amounts paid for it, and the name, description and icon taken from the linked page. Listings are public.
• Payments. The amount, Stripe’s reference for the payment, and the email address you gave Stripe, kept with the record of the payment.
• Secure payments. Payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI DSS Level 1 certified provider, over encrypted connections. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are never received or stored by the board.
• Reports. The reason given when a listing is reported, not who reported it.
• Usage information. Like most websites, the board processes technical information such as your IP address to keep the service secure, prevent abuse and measure visits. It is not used to identify you.

We collect nothing else ourselves.

To show and rank listings, take payments and record refunds, check listings against the Ad policy, prevent abuse, count visitors and clicks, and understand how the board is used. We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.

Payments are processed by Stripe, which collects your payment details and email address at checkout under its own privacy policy.

The board also relies on third-party providers for hosting, security, analytics and the automated checks on listings. These providers may collect information, such as your IP address and browser details, under their own privacy policies.

Our analytics providers record the pages you view, the links and buttons you click and steps such as opening a checkout, under a random identifier stored in your browser. The identifier is passed to Stripe with a payment so its outcome can be counted. Checkout references are removed from page addresses before anything is sent.

The board sets no cookies of its own. Your browser stores which listings you paid for and the rank it last showed them, so the board can mark them as yours, and which analytics events it has already sent. Our analytics providers may keep their identifier in a cookie and in browser storage, and Stripe’s checkout may set cookies to prevent fraud. Clearing your browser storage removes all of this and does not affect any listing.

A listing links to a site we do not operate. When you follow it, that site learns you came from the board, and its own privacy policy applies.

Listings stay public while they are on the board. Payment records, including the email address, are kept as long as needed for accounting, tax, refunds and disputes. Usage information is kept only as long as needed for these purposes.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete information we hold about you, or to object to how we use it. Because the board has no accounts, we may need details of the payment to find it. Requests about payment details held by Stripe go to Stripe.

The board is for adults, as the Terms require. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
